how to pick a diamond
You might have heard a lot of people complain that they are allergic to artificial jewelry. It is a fact that some people that can’t wear jewelry even if they want to. Allergy due to jewelry is generally a nickel allergy, which means the allergic response is due to nickel. It is a component of gold and silver jewelries. Nickel, along with zinc and copper, is used to give a proper shape to gold and silver ornaments because they are extremely soft metals. It is nickel that people are often allergic to and not the jewelry.
People tend to develop dermatitis when their skin comes in proximity to nickel. A lot of females suffer from nickel allergies compared to men, since women wear jewelry a lot more than men. The effects of the allergy depend upon the sensitivity of your skin and the amount of nickel present in the jewelry.
Sweating can also lead to nickel allergy. When the body perspires, it comes in contact with the nickel present in the jewelry and forms nickel salts which lead to nickel allergy. Some of the most common symptoms are bleeding, swelling and pus formation in the earring-hole in the ear or nose, burning or itching sensation on the skin around the jewelry.
In order to prevent such allergies, you should try these tips:
· Apply talcum on your skin before wearing the jewelry.
· Do not wear heavy jewelry on a sunny day.
· Do not tighten your earring or nose ring to an extent that no air can pass through it.
· Apply transparent nail paint on the back of your jewelry so that no soap or detergent comes in contact with the jewelry and cause you an allergy.
You can get rid of the early symptoms by using moisturizing creams, antibiotics. All you need to do is follow certain steps and you can still look fashionable and charming!
